Once activated, you can borrow books and other library materials, renew eligible items online, place holds on available resources, and manage your library account from anywhere. Your account also provides access to thousands of electronic journals, e-books, databases, and other digital resources both on and off campus using your Howard University credentials.

Need a quiet place to study, collaborate on a group project, or prepare for a presentation? Howard University Libraries offers study rooms designed to support both individual and group learning. Reserve a study room online to secure a dedicated space equipped for focused work and academic collaboration. Be sure to review the reservation guidelines, room capacities, and usage policies before booking.

Access Services connects you with the collections and resources you need to support your academic success. Learn about your borrowing privileges, including loan periods, renewal options, and policies for books, media, technology, and other library materials. Expand your access beyond Howard University through the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC), which allows you to request and borrow materials from participating academic libraries across the region. If an item is not available through Howard or the WRLC, Interlibrary Loan (ILL) can help you obtain books, journal articles, and other research materials from libraries worldwide. Understanding these services will help you make the most of the Libraries' collections and ensure you have access to the resources you need, whenever and wherever your research takes you.
